Light of Hope is so excited to announce that we will now be offering group parent training sessions.
This is a service that is covered by most insurance providers under the umbrella of ABA therapy.
Here is what you need to know:
- If you are interested in participation, you will need to fill out a packet of information about your child, related services, family structure, behavioral history of child, educational history of child; complete a questionnaire assessment; and provide insurance information.
○ This information will be used to develop a parent training treatment
plan that will be sent to your insurance carrier for approval.
- A Light of Hope staff member will request authorization from your insurance carrier.
○ We will reach out to schedule your participation in group sessions once
authorization is received as approved from your insurance carrier.
- Group parent training sessions are designed to be for the parents/ caregivers; therefore, children are not permitted to attend the training sessions.
What to expect during group sessions:
- Each parent(s) is required to participate in not only the training session but also to take data and document behaviors outside of training sessions. This is a requirement by your insurance carrier for the purpose of ensuring the most beneficial outcome of the training sessions.
- Each group session will be on a specific topic. You may share information about your child with the group or participate by completing the written handouts.
- After each training session, you will have a plan of action. These will be steps or implementation guidelines for you to follow outside of training sessions.
- As your child may or may not be receiving ABA services with Light of Hope, please know that the trainer may not be able to provide individualized guidance or support to your child outside of the training topic, as that would fall under the scope of individualized ABA treatment.
If you are authorized and approved by your insurance provider to participate in Group Parent Training sessions with Light of Hope, the trainer is required to uphold guidelines set forth by the insurance provider. If you are unable, unwilling, or decide not to meet the required document, data, and participation guidelines, then Light of Hope will initiate a discharge plan from the group therapy sessions.
